Rosemary Bazley

I trained as a speech and language therapist in Cardiff and received BSc.(Hons) Speech Therapy in 1987.

I worked for the NHS in Portsmouth from 1987 until 2002 during which time I studied at City University and received an MSc. in Human Communication in 1994. I was a Specialist Speech and Language Therapist in special needs and pre-school.

In 2002 I set up Solent Speech and Language, a private practice providing high quality assessment and therapy for children and communication related training for parents and professionals. I studied for a Post-Graduate Certificate in Evidence Based Practice at the University of Portsmouth.

I have experience working with a wide variety of communication disorders from speech delays and disorders, articulation difficulties and dyspraxia, language delays and disorders, pragmatic disorder, as well as communication difficulties associated with cerebral palsy, autistic spectrum disorders, developmental delay and learning difficulties.

I specialise in autism, social communication difficulties, speech delays and disorders and oral motor difficulties including dyspraxia,

After many years practising as a speech and language therapist I am still passionate about helping children reach their potential in communication skills. I use a blend of experience, knowledge and problem solving to plan and implement therapy tailored to the individual child.

Anita Bennett

I trained as a speech and language therapist in Cardiff, qualifying in 1994. I worked as a speech and language therapist for the NHS in Portsmouth for 15 years. My last post was as Specialist Speech and Language Therapist at the Child Development Centre, where I was part of a multidisciplinary team working with children with complex needs.

I joined Solent Speech and Language Ltd in 2009. I enjoy working with a small caseload of children with a range of different communication difficulties. I work with children in both special and mainstream schools as well as in our clinic. I work closely with parents, school staff and other specialists.

I specialise in speech disorders, alternative and augmentative communication including signing, communication difficulties associated with complex needs including sensory impairments, and speech and language development in children with Down Syndrome.
